Why?
Why is it so important to some people that they wish everyone a "Merry Christmas," rejecting the dreaded "politically correct," as they disdainfully refer to it as, phrase "Happy Holidays?"
my biggest problem with this, is it is part of the derevolution that wants to create some sort of republic that recognizes us as a christian nation. we are not, a christain nation. James Madison wrote about a fear, that he called the tyranny of the majority, how a group with simillar interest is likely to impede on the liberty of others. Christians are a majority that could destroy American Liberty, the one I see as being most likely to do just that.
Wish your friends and family a Merry Christmas. But someone you just met on the street? Why not give them a "Happy Holidays?"

youth grows tired of blogging;
but says he probably won't quit.
"I've realized that I don't blog for myself," he says, "I rarely have anything I feel I need to say. My only good post was the first one. Everything else has been for my readers, all 5 of you," he finished with a smirk.
In fact, he is so bored with his on writing, it shouldn't be a surprise if he stopped mid-sentence and

its sort of like a book.
i was talking to this kid the other day about this band he was trying to start. he was talking about how he wants to talk to the other guys about what style they are going to be playing, so he can know what to write about.
if it sounds like Cannibal Corpse, he would write stuff thats just gory.
if its thrash, its gotta be politics.
and so on.
but i proposed, that music is like a book. you can make it say, whatever you want.

Eating is a necessary part of life
A recent study has revealed that more animals than you think may require food.
Scientist spent months collected data on the diurnal adventures of several creatures, and discovered that nearly everyone of these creatures eat.
"It was astounding," said one of the men who helped conduct the study, "We never were aware of how powerful food is."
Many of these animals fight, collect, farm, and even scavenge to get their daily intake of food.
This is a short list of animals that eat, one of the products of the study:
1. elephants
2. bats
3. giraffes
4. bears
5. chimps
6. hippos
and hundreds more!

Youths Make a Split Decision
"I'd never seen it before," replied the younger of the two, in response to his choice of watching Kung Fu Panda. The other stated that Kung Fu Panda is a good movie, but, "The Incredibles is just better."
The elder of the two ran upstairs when he decided that he wanted to watch The Incredibles, and changed it to Kung Fu Panda during commercials, careful to not miss any of his choice movie.
He also decided to try to count the deaths to challenge the site that records deaths in movies, moviebodycounts.com, but did a poor job and can't say whether or not the site is accurate. He can testify, however, that the number of deaths by cape, 6, counting Syndrome, is accurate. The site claims the number of deaths in the movie is 16.

Currently, two youths, full of thanksgiving dinner, face an impossible choice.
On FX, Kung Fu Panda is showing. On Disney channel, at the same time, The Incredibles is on. Both are just beginning, and both are considered fantastic films by both youths.

Students laugh at teacher's guarantee
On Monday, a Spanish teacher adamantly insisted that there would be school Tuesday, despite the snow that had begun to fall. "I guarantee that you will probably have school tomorrow," stated the teacher in front of her class. Her students began laughing that very night.
The school district declared a two hour delay that night for the next day, and later changed it to snow day. Wednesday has also been named a snow day.
A student of the teacher, when asked what he thought about the teacher's guarantee, said "I don't know; I think she was wrong."
Students will be enjoying this time off, laughing at the incessant stubborn claims of their teacher.

Fight Breaks out at Local Church
Two students of the Wired Youth ministry got into a physical fight after youth service tonight.
The two students are both members of the youth leadership program, and have been long time friends.
“It doesn’t make sense,” remarked one student, “they goof off together all the time.”
According to witnesses, the fight broke out because of the two being at each other’s throats for the last week. It got physical when one punched the other in the face and then began to run away. He tripped over a chair, and then the other jumped on him swinging.
The man who broke up the fight commented that he thought they were just messing around, because the one who started it was laughing and smiling the whole time.
The fight was quickly suppressed, and the two were “taken care of,” by the youth pastor.

Local Youth Wears Cardigan;
discovers they are "comfy."
A local teenager was seen at McDonald's wearing a cardigan and drinking a Coke. "They are very comfy," he said, "I just like wearing it."
The cardigan doesn't belong to him, he borrowed it from his best friend, who was seen wearing the youth's "Goreship" hooded sweater.
The youth said that he plans to wear the sweater tomorrow at his school.

I Heart the "I Heart Boobies" Campaign
| Clearly, these cause so much disruption, you probably won't even be able to read the blog. |
"I think that anything that raises awareness is good."
My school banned these bracelets. At first, I really could not care less. It didn't matter to me; I didn't wear them. I had thought they were a little dirty, kind of offensive, but it didn't bother me if people wore them.
Thanks school. Now I realize, these bracelets are not offensive or vulgar. They are juvenile. Childish. But offensive? It says much about the maturity of our high school that we can't wear something that says "boobies" lest it should impede the educational process. I mean, come on. This is high school. I think we can handle it.
Besides, what is our greatest fear? That maybe some horny teenage boys are wearing them trying to be irreverent and/or funny? Why not take that opportunity to educate them about the statement everyone else sees them making? Isn't that purpose of these bracelets? To raise awareness?
I've heard people complain that the slogan is objectifying women, reducing them down from humans to a body part. Come on. The intent is to save lives through education about prevention and early detection. It is about lives, not boobs.
I polled 8 teachers at my school- and intend to ask more- to see if they thought allowing the bracelets in school would create a disruption to their classrooms. 6 definitively said "no." One of them even admitted that the school's policy requiring them to confiscate the bracelets has created a disturbance, saying that the only time she has had a distraction because of the bracelets she was either taking one away, or once, a student shouted at another who was wearing one, "Oooooh, you aren't supposed to have those at schoooooool!" Let me make my point clear. The problem is the policy.
I think the slogan is very effective at reaching their target audience, the next generation. A mentor of mine told me that if you already have adults down for your cause, and want to get kids in on it too, sometimes, you have to do that with something that maybe the adults don't like as much.
That's exactly what the Keep A Breast foundation is doing.

Living a Dream
Hardcore punk. it's my passion, it's what I love. i believe it changed who i am. it's about more than music; its about standing up for what you believe in. a friend of mine says that the "music can take a back seat to what you want to say." he gets that it's all about a message, about beliefs, about bringing a culture from death to something better - not to say that the music isn't fantastic musically too.
isn't that what it is? isn't that what Minor Threat was doing? taking all these dying punks, and encouraging them to end the violence and senseless drug use? it's been almost 30 years, and while the hardcore scene does have plenty of kids that abstain from drugs, do you see a new message emerging? we've all been talking about the same thing for so long; its a dying message. a fresh message must be breathed into the scene, or we will all perish.
my dream for so long has been to play in a hardcore, christian, straight edge, punk band. this friday, i am finally getting a chance to play a show with a new band, that is almost exactly what i wanted (the vocalist doesn't like the straight edge label, but he wrote drug-free songs, so i am cool with that.) i feel that this is the right time, with the right guys, to do the right project.
I've heard it said that christians can't play hardcore music. those people are simply wrong. i believe that today, christians are playing some of the only real hardcore left-especially considering how much of what is left can't even classify as hardcore. hardcore is about taking dying people from something negative to something positive. christain hardcore has that exact mission. i'm not saying you have to believe, but "whether you think what we say is right or wrong, this is where we belong."
whether or not you think christians can play hardcore, i'm glad to be doing that. and i'm excited to play on friday.

A journalistic view of a trip to market place.
Teenager leaving Market Place supports stranger's drug addiction, begins to question his motivation.
Tonight a teenager, Jacob Vargas, was leaving the local Market Place after picking up a 24 pack of Coca~Cola. After entering his car, he heard the stranger next to his car shouting "excuse me!" so he rolled down his window, and the man asked him for some change.
"I wasn't sure what to think," says Jacob, " I mean, my first thought was, 'how is this guy going to spend this money?' How do you know how he is going to use it?"
The man was with a woman, and there were two young children in the backseat of his car.
When asked if Jacob thought that man needed the money for the kids, he responded, "Maybe. Maybe I was practicing civic duty, maybe I was entertaining an angel, or maybe I was just supporting some dude's drug addiction. Maybe it was all three."
Regardless of what he was doing, Jacob reached into his change drawer and grabbed a fistful of change and gave it to the man.
"He was very thankful. I don't know what kind of impact it has on his life, and I'm not sure of whether or not it was a good idea. I was taught to not do these things."
